“All of us remember with gratitude our teachers, who have opened the first paths of life for us and directed us towards a wider road.
Our people, knowing the value of science and education, has always highly appreciated the teacher’s role and merit. On crucial moments for our nation the Armenian teacher not only held a pen, but a weapon, not only taught language and script, but also fought inspiring the Armenian warrior with personal example.
And this has its explanation and substantiation: the teacher, being the one shaping his/her people’s spiritual character, better realizes its value, and the necessity of protecting and saving from danger.
You, the teachers not only give knowledge and education, but also become an example with your virtue for a pupil, educate the tomorrow’s citizen of our country. It’s not accidental the teacher and the parent, the school and the house are identified.
Dear teachers, you have always been faithful to your appeal, irrespective of hardships, you have carried out your mission with modesty and devotion, realizing your responsibility towards the future of the nation and the country displaying yourselves like courageous warriors. The spirit, received from you, gave strength to the soldier fighting with weapon in his hands and protecting the borders, the knowledge given by you served basis for every scientist’s invention, the lessons of the civil posture given by you became benchmarks for state and public figures. I am thankful for your selfless work, remaining faithful to your appeal and for your resoluteness. I will record with regret that today our state still cannot materially compensate your work done. At the same time, I am convinced that with your civil posture and position, with your ability of assessing today’s possibilities of the state, you are one of the pillars of the civil society, the potential, on whom are anchored the faith and the trust towards tomorrow. I would like you to be sure that tomorrow we’ll have more welfare country and more welfare citizen, more welfare teacher and builder. I congratulate you on your holiday and for being granted the awards of the National Assembly, and I wish you health and happiness, welfare and optimism.” After the solemn awarding ceremony and being photographed together a sincere and intimate talk was held between the Speaker of the National Assembly and the pedagogues over the teacher’s work, education, yesterday, today and tomorrow.
The teacher is the person, who with the parent has sometimes even more contribution for a child, in the formation of the future citizen’s character. Our people know to assess your patriotic work, and they do it with affection and gratitude towards you.
