In Maydan addressing thousands of participants of the celebrations, RA NA President Artur Baghdasaryan said: “Let me congratulate you on the occasion of the holiday and wish you success. The democracy and freedom, solidarity and progress are the very values of the progress, for which we fought and will fight in future, because just the open society and the real development of democracy guarantee progress and security, solidarity and prosperity in any country, as well as in the whole world.
The thousand years connect the Armenian and Ukrainian peoples. Our visit coincided with the celebrations of the Day of Freedom, obviously not accidentally and I would like to congratulate all of you in the name of the Armenian delegation and wish strengthening of the achieved success.
You have passed the Sunday of revolution, but after every Sunday comes Monday, and Monday is unlucky day. That’s why it’s necessary to build with consistent and purposeful dedication the life, which is the ideal of the Ukrainian people, because the people’s expectations are great in all spheres of social life and continue to be such. The democracy is the right to election and the Ukrainians made their choice last year.
First of all, the democracy is a law, but not an exclusion, that’s why we’ll have to do all possible to establish rule of law, and the freedom of speech and free market economy will be superior direction for the development of the states and societies.
The Ukrainian people with its history proved its adherence to the ideals of freedom and protected them.
And Maydan became the embodiment of the energy, courage and consistency of the Ukrainian people, the wish of the fulfillment of stable reforms in the political and social-economic spheres.
I wish you all the best and success, dear friends.
Long live Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.”
