On October 10 Koryun Nahapetyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, met with the representatives of the member NGOs of the Public Network, the Association of the Civil Society Institutes.

Koryun Nahapetyan highly appreciated the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the National Assembly of the fourth convocation and the Public Network, but especially highlighted the activation and continuity of the real and objective cooperation. He expressed readiness to do his best to make the cooperation closer and more effective. In this respect the participation of the representatives of the organizations in the Public Network, involved in the spheres reserved to the Committee, in the sittings of the Committee, parliamentary hearings, joint discussions concerning various problems, where they would come up with their proposals for giving solutions to the issues, was emphasized. The researches and analyses on the issues concerning the public, naturally the NGOs will be also useful and will give an opportunity to find effective solutions.

According to the Committee Chairman's assessment, the organization of the mutually agreed routine work in the nowadays existance of information technologies, Internet connection, will be conditioned by the wish of doing the best, willingness and consistency of solving the existing problems.

The representatives of the NGOs raised a number of problems, which were more related to military service, negative phenomena taking place in the army, soldiers who became handicapped during the service, etc.

Koryun Nahapetyan proposed to present all the raised issues in written substantiations, which could be a basis for making amendments to the relevant laws.
