On November 21 Mr. Armen Ashotyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and Ms. Naira Zohrabyan, Deputy chair, met with the members of “Vardananq” military -patriotic club. Mr. Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan, Lieutenant General, also participated in the meeting.
Welcoming the students Mr. Armen Ashotyan highly assessed the mission of the “Vardananq” military -patriotic club, qualifying their ideas as honest and important, as, according to the club, the memory, related to the victims in the Karabakh war are partly forgotten and the society during these peace years is losing its vigilance and responsibility towards the best sons of the nation, who fought for the future of the state and the society.
The Chairman of the Committee presented to the guests the staff of the committee and the spheres of its activity. Then a sincere “question and answer” took place, which related not only to the spheres of the committee.
Answering Ms. Satenik Abrahamyan’s, president of the club, questions, Mr. Ashotyan noted that jointly with the government a bill is being developed on the youth, which probably will be adopted in 2010 and will help to solve many issues concerning the youth.
The wide framework of the questions, during the meeting, also included the issues, related to the conscription, the serials flooding Armenian television and advertisements. Mr. Ashotyan said that the committee would hold parliamentary hearings on that theme on December 12, where also a legislative initiation will be presented.
