On June 3, the goal of the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Human Reproductive Health and Reproductive Rights debated in parliament in the first reading is to regulate the relations referring to medical aid and service by using the reproductive auxiliary technologies, expand the possibilities of making use of reproductive auxiliary technologies, help people to have children, prevent fruitless lonely persons’ social isolation and improve demographic situation. The Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan informed that the draft law had been debated for a long time in different concerned organizations, and the international experience had been taken into consideration.
The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Narek Zeynalyan informed that the draft law had been debated at the Committee. He proposed the attendees to replace the term ‘Armenian origin’ into the term ‘Armenian by origin,’ which Anahit Avanesyan accepted.
