On October 24 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings and passed by voting the bills debated on the previous day.
Then the deputies and the factions expressed their views and stances on the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Minimum Monthly Wage”.
The deputies Mikayel Melkumyan, Lyudmila Sargsyan, Artsvik Minasyan and Zaruhi Postanjyan deemed inadmissible the size of the minimum wage, taking into consideration that the increasing 2500 drams cannot be of essential importance on the citizens’ level of life.
Khosrov Harutyunyan’s stance was positive on the bill.
The Head of the Heritage faction Rubik Hakobyan presented the view of the faction.
The member of the ARF faction Artsvik Minasyan criticized the bill submitted by the Government in the name of the faction.
The Secretary of the PAP faction Naira Zohrabyan in her speech made parallels between the minimum consumer’s basket and minimum wage, stressing that the minimum wage at least should provide the minimum needs of the citizens living with their wage in order to be able to live a dignified life.
Presenting the positive stance of the RPA faction, the Head of the faction Galust Sahakyan has agreed that the issue of the minimum wage is one of the most painful issues of our country, and it is not possible ti live with that wage.
The Head of the faction has proposed the deputies to vote for the bill and try to edit it and find admissible solutions.
Summing up the debate the key reporter, the RA Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan and the co-reporter, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan touched upon the deputies’ interpellations and gave clarifications.
Then the RA Minister of Finance submitted to the parliament’s debate the legislative initiative “On Amending the RA Law on Prosecutor’s Office”.
Hakob Hakobyan endorsed the two packages of the Head Committee.
The draft law on amending the law “On Accumulate Pensions” with relevant amendments to more than one decade was also on the agenda of the four-day sittings. The Deputy Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan submitted two draft laws included in the package to the deputies in the first reading procedure ”On Amending the RA Labor Code” and “On Amending the law on State Duty”.
At the last hour of Wednesday four-day sittings, under the RA Rules of Procedure, the deputies addressed questions to the members of the Government.
