At October 23 sitting the National Assembly ended the debate of the report on 2011 activity of the Public TV and Radio Company.
In the procedure of the second reading the parliament debated the draft laws “On Amending the Law on Allocating to The Refugees with the Right of Property the Apartments Built for Forcibly Emigrated Refugees from the Republic of Azerbaijan” and “On Amending the Law on State Duty”.
The Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan presented to the deputies the legislative package envisaging amendments to the laws “On General Education” and “On Education” authored by the Government.
The MP Ruzanna Muradyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport on the legislative package.
The RA Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan presented the RA draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Minimal Wage”.
The key speaker answered the NA deputies’ questions, which were relating to the correlation of minimal wage and minimal basket and the principle of taxation of minimal wage.
To the question of the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan whether the minimal wage 35000 drams envisioned for 2013 was the factual wage, the RA Minister of Finance confirmed that it was the factual wage, i.e. it was not subject to taxation. The Head of the parliament highlighted the specifying and awareness of this issue in the law in order the employers would not be illegally taxed from the minimal wage.
The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.
The debate of the issue will continue at October 24 sitting of the National Assembly.
