By Hovik Abrahamyan’s assessment, the friendly relations of the two countries, as well as formed legal-contractual field serve as a firm basis for full cooperation in the spheres of trade-economy, culture, tourism and other spheres. Despite the fact that Argentina occupies the third place by the volume of foreign investments made in the economy of Armenia due to big financial investments of the well-known Argentinean Armenian businessman Eduardo Ernekian, nevertheless, the volumes of the trade turnover between the two countries do not correspond the existing potential. Mr Abrahamyan has noted that it is necessary to find new practical spheres due to joint efforts for using them at best. “The RA National Assembly is concerned about more developing the inter-parliamentary relations with the two Chambers of the Argentinean Parliament, as all of us realize the big role of this format of cooperation in the development of bilateral relations. I am convinced that our visit will record positive move in the relations of our two friendly states,” the NA President said. He noted with satisfaction that in the two parliaments Parliamentary Friendship Groups had been created, which with their activity could promote the activation of contacts between Armenia and Argentina. He deemed necessary the further development of inter-parliamentary relations, and emphasized the work of the Friendship Groups. “I am confident that your visit will give new impetus to the strengthening of the friendship of the two countries and peoples and will boost the multilateral cooperation. In the development of the relations of the two countries the Armenian community has a big role, which has an important involvement in the political and economic life of Argentina. Armenians have big contribution to the prosperity and development of our country,” the Vice President, the President of the Senate of Argentina Amado Boudou said. He also deemed important the development of cooperation with Armenia in the spheres of economy, science, education, culture and other spheres.

In the course of the meeting both sides touched upon the regional problems, the settlement of the NK conflict and the Armenian-Turkish relations. Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that Armenia highly appreciates the neutral position of Argentina connected with the settlement of the NK conflict, which is consonant with the position of the OSCE Minsk Group Three Co-Chairs.
