The Speaker of the RA National Assembly Mr Hovik Abrahamyan sent a New Year congratulatory message, where it said:

“DEAR COMPATRIOTS

On the New Year Eve usually what was done and what was not done during the whole year is summed up, things to be done are programmed. The past year was the year of ordeals and achievements.

Looking back and assessing the year 2008 we should note that after the national elections of 2007-2008 post-election reforms period is started for Armenia, after the end of which we can record that our country took one more step on the way of the establishment of democracy and improvement of the social-economic situation.

As Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia I would like to wish all our compatriots living in Armenia and outside Armenia solidarity, tolerance and success. We live in hard, but interesting times and we have all preconditions to inherit our generations a country of more prosperous, more stable and developed economy.

I congratulate you on New Year and Christmas and wish you peace, health, happiness.”
