On November 8, issues for effective realization of the project were discussed during the meeting of Mrs. Hranush Hakobyan, Chairwoman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth of the National Assembly and Mr. Jean Pierre Madrid, Team Leader of the project Support for Establishment of the National Centre for VET Development (NCVETD) in Armenia.
Mr. Madrid informed that a center is envisaged to be set up in the Educational National Institute, which aims to improve the secondary vocational education and the qualification of the human resources. They cooperate with Trade Unions and Employers, proposing the organizations to finance the project. Taking into consideration that Armenia aims to be integrated into European educational structures the problem of the settlement of this sphere is more highlighted.
Mrs. Hakobyan noted that for the productive realization of the project, first of all, the labor market, trends of the development of the economy should be well studied. It is not a secret that the specialists are trained in the country, and it turns out later that there is a lack of their demand in the economy and on the contrary, there is a lack of new specialists. The necessity of the project is evident, a relevant legislative field is created and it needs to be consistently implemented. At present, it is expedient the center to be functioned in the structure of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia. Mrs. Hakobyan ensured that in case the project is continuous and financed she would assist the center to be an independent functioning structure.
