On June 29 the Chairperson of RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan received representatives of the UN Armenian Association Gayane Arsenyan and Aram Voskanyan.

The guests said that the Armenian branch of People in Need and the UN Armenian Association in 2009-2011 implement the program Cooperation with the Third Countries in the Sphere of Migration and Refuge of the European Union and the Management Strengthening of Migration in Armenia being financed by the Government of the Czech Republic. Mrs. Zohrabyan highlighted the presented program, provisions, in particular, to return to re-integration of those who wish, the provisions concerning the decrease of the reasons of migration in Armenia, which, according to the committee chairperson, are of important problems and worth system attention. She emphasized the expanded inter-departmental cooperation on migration flows, which is based on international best experience. Mrs. Zohrabyan touched upon the problem of expanded public awareness on illegal migration risks. The sides also highlighted the issue of creating accessible services for possible migrants, which will give them opportunity to find alternative solutions for migration. According to the committee chairperson, we should pay the most serious attention to the problem of providing accessibility to make use of the support services for those who voluntarily return.

The Committee Chairperson Naira Zohrabyan considered the most serious problem to retrun to the issue of re-integration of those who wish, emphasizing in this field the problem of public awareness. According to her, the citizen should be given full information what is expected him/her outside, in order he/she would have an idea free of illusions about the reality. The sides agreed to continue the discussions and cooperation for finding more optimal versions of the problem, and in autumn organize parliamentary hearings on this problem of strategic importance.
