At February 9 NA regular sitting, the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on General Education presented by the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan was debated in the second reading.
The Deputy Minister informed that the bill had passed a long phase of debate, there had been working discussions, and parliamentary hearings were held.
According to Zhanna Andreasyan, after passing in the first reading numerous provisions of the draft law had been revised and specified.
A number of amendments of principle is designed to make by the bill in the sphere of general education. Particularly, the process of the teachers’ regular voluntary certifications is specified. The cases of expressing distrust to the director have been clarified.
The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan presented the endorsement. According to him, after passing it in the first reading the deputies presented recommendations on the draft law, and the majority of them has been completely or partially accepted.
