Meetings in the Hainan Province

Completing the official meetings in Beijing on December 17 the delegation headed by the President of the National Assembly Mr Hovik Abrahamyan left for Hainan Province of China.

The first meeting was with the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the province, who widely presented the history and achievements of the province. In Hainan 8 million people live. The island, which is at the crossing point of the Pacific and Indian oceans, has wonderful nature and favourable climate. Hainan has been already a free economic zone for twenty years. Especially during recent years the island attracts annually 20 million tourists, the development of this sphere in its turn promotes the economic improvement of the province. The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the province was proudly presenting the industrial enterprises, roads, and airports of her province. She also noted that the capital Haikou of the province having an agreement of cooperation with 28 cities of the world, and the whole Hainan province are ready to cooperate with one of the regions of Armenia.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception  the President of the National Assembly Mr Hovik Abrahamyan he noted that in Armenia the development of relations with China and the establishment of business ties are highlighted. The NA President expressed confidence that the visit would promote the deepening of relations in two countries. He was impressed by the fact of hosting annually 20 million tourists in the province, and accepting the proposal of the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the province, he highlighted the study of the experience of Hainan and its use in Armenia.

In Haikou the delegation visited Haima Automobile Company, which is well known Mazda daughter enterprise, the production of 300.000 cars annually provides leading positions to the enterprise not only in China, Haima cars have also demand in dozens of countries of the world.

On December 19 the delegation will return to Yerevan.
