On November 1 RA NA President Mr Hovik Abrahamyan received His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.

At the meeting legislative issues regarding the church-state relations were discussed, and the exclusive role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the life of the country and people was highlighted. NA President Mr Hovik Abrahamyan informed the Supreme Patriarch about the envisaging changes in the National Assembly, touching upon the necessity of the rise of efficiency of the deputies’ works, the importance of giving new quality to the role and significance of the parliament.

His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, who had been hosted in the parliament for the first time after Mr Hovik Abrahamyan’s election as President of the National Assembly, addressed his patriarchal blessing and best wishes to the NA President, wishing success in the responsible post for the sake of the nation’s interests. During the regular meetings an agreement was reached to touch upon the important problems for the church and the state.

At the meeting other issues were also discussed.
