On June 9, the regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan was held.
The NA deputy Heriknaz Tigranyan made a legislative initiative and proposed to amend the law on the RA Holidays and Memorial Days.
The key speaker noted that in reality it had been of editorial character.
It was noted that for the first time the Citizen’s Day was marked on 27 April 2019. As it is not a fixed day, but it is a moveable, practically there are coincidences with other holidays or memorial days set by law, particularly, April 24. To avoid that it was proposed to mark the RA Citizen’s Day on last Sunday of April in case of coinciding with April 24.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Grigoryan has informed that the Government has no objections on the draft law.
The draft law was endorsed.
