On February 4 the RA NA Deputy Speaker, the Head of Armenia-China Friendship Group Hermine Naghdalyan met with Tian Erlong, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia.

Congratulating the Ambassador on the occasion of beginning his diplomatic mission in Armenia the NA Deputy Speaker expressed hope that the warm and friendly relations formed between the parliaments of the two countries from now on also will have effective developments. Hermine Naghdalyan highlighted the high level political contacts existing between the two countries, the exchanges of experience, the mutual visits and the bilateral meetings. In this context Mrs Naghdalyan touched upon the activity of the Friendship Groups and invited the members of China-Armenia Friendship Group. The NA Deputy Speaker has noted that there also exists close cooperation with the All-China Women’s Federation and has highlighted the women’s cooperation in the public and political life of the two countries. In her word, the parliamentarian women have many programmes and ideas, and in its implementation she expects the Ambassador’s support.

Tian Erlong also has underlined that there is already a firm basis for the expansion of the Armenian-Chinese ties and has expressed willingness to have his contribution to the development of inner-state cooperation and the implementation of different programmes. He has spotlighted the cooperation in the cultural, trade-economic, humanitarian spheres, noting that the trade turnover volume between the two countries has increased.

The Ambassador thanked Mrs Naghdalyan for the big contribution to the development and strengthening of the Armenian-Chinese relations.

The sides also discussed issues concerning the regional and geo-political processes.
