On December 27 the NA Heritage faction held a press conference at the end of the year. The head of the faction Styopa Safaryan noted that during 2010 the faction carried out parliamentary, inter-parliamentary and extra-parliamentary activity. The members of the faction made legislative initiatives on making amendments and addenda to 43 laws, and part of them had been included in the session agenda. Styopa Safaryan said that the members of the Heritage faction gave 186 speeches on the issues under debate in the parliament, sounded 235 issues, made 56 announcements, and directed 228 issues orally and in written form to the government. The faction also presented their viewpoints on different issues within the Parliamentary Week programme. Styopa Safaryan noted that the announcements referred to the Armenian-Turkish relations, regional and geo-political developments, and social-economic problems. He also said that the members of the faction had taken part in the works of PACE, OSCE PA, CIS IPU and in international forums. 10 citizens were awarded letters of acknowledgement on the protection of citizens’ rights.

The member of the faction Anahit Bakhshyan touched upon the problems of the sphere of education and noted with pleasure that in 2011 the textbooks should be undergone into sanitary-hygienic expertise. Zaruhi Postanjyan talked about the freedom of speech and mass media. Larisa Alaverdyan touched upon the Armenian-Turkish relations and the draft law on recognizing Nagorno Karabakh, which prepared the faction. Armen Martirosyan referred to issues of the level of the minimal monthly salary, the compulsory insurance of the cars and protection of ecological environment.
