During its history the world civilization has formed a system of values, on which the human rights and fundamental freedoms are based, and they had their wording in the document by the Universal Proclamation of Human Rights, adopted by the UN General Assembly. As interrelated notions they characterize the level of the state and society, so it was on December 10, 1950, when they began to celebrate the Human Rights Day in the world, and so it is after 60 years. It will be like that tomorrow because the human rights are the values that irrespective of times will continue to remain standards in occupying a deserved place in the international community for the peoples and countries.

It’s not accidental that the states in the legislation affirm that the human rights and fundamental freedoms serve a higher value because the man is the engine force of the state, the citizen whose protection is the evidence of the level of democracy of the country.

RA Constitution and the legal acts adopted by the National Assembly stem from it guarantee the protection of human rights in our country. I am sure that our citizens gradually will more and more feel the influence and efficiency of those laws. The National Assembly will continue to improve the legislation and do its utmost in order to have the process of the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms more tangible and visible for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
