On December 23, on the initiative of the Government and by the NA President’s decision the National Assembly convened an extraordinary session by the initiator’s established agenda.

The draft law on Amending the Law on Territorial Administration with the enclosed package was debated in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan informed that by the legislative package it is proposed to move the functions connected with the work of the government bodies, the marz/regional governors to the area of the Ministry - the authorized body elaborating the policy. It is expected that, as result of the mentioned amendments the accountability of the marz governors and the efficiency of the latter’s staff activities will increase.

The legislative package was passed in the first reading.

The debate of the package in the second reading will be held within twenty-four hours by the NA decision.
