“Television and radio play an important role in the formation of relationships and content in all spheres, having a huge impact on public life,” Gohar Mamikonyan who was nominated for the position of a member of the Commission on Television and Radio by the Civil Contract Faction noted during her speech at the regular sitting of the National Assembly held on May 3.
According to the candidate, the mass media has long been an integral part of public life. Gohar Mamikonyan also noted that the mass media is one of the most important institutions of the democratic system and civil society and have an impact on the formation of public opinion.
The speaker also answered the deputies’ questions, which mainly referred to the field of television.
Gohar Mamikonyan expressed readiness to use her experience and knowledge to solve the existing problems in the sphere.
Narek Babayan, a member of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport, presented the candidate’s biography at the regular sitting of the National Assembly.
Gohar Mamikonyan is a politician by profession, a specialist in public administration. She lectured at YSU Chair of Public Administration. She also worked in international organizations. Since 2021, she has been the Head of the RA ESCS Department of Additional and Continuing Education of the Youth Policy and a Founding member of the Civil Contract Party.
The Chair of the Counting Commission Narek Babayan informed that voting for the election of a candidate will be held on May 4.
