On February 22, the meeting of the Committees on Economic Integration, Legal Approximation and Convergence with EU Policies, on Social Affairs, Employment, Education, Culture and Civil Society of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was held in Yerevan.
During the discussions of the public health and the procedure of the vaccine programmes and the recorded results in the member countries were touched upon within the framework of the working documents.
The Executive Director, Executive Director of European Business Association Armenia Diana Sarumova, speaking about the activities of the Association, presented the results of the studies made on the situation in the economic market amid the pandemic.
The participants of the meeting presented the problems that the countries come across while implementing the vaccine programmes. The representatives of the RA Ministry of Health, the UNICEF in Armenia expressed their positions on the issue, gave details about the statistical data for fighting against the pandemic.
The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Tatevik Gasparyan has noted that the residents of Artsakh have no accessibility to vaccines, which is a serious problem. Underlining that Armenia has allocated certain dose of vaccinations to the population of Nagorno Karabakh, the deputy has stressed that, nevertheless, that is not a complete solution of the problem. In this issue she highlighted the global cooperation.
Hayk Mamijanyan from the NA With Honor Faction, Artur Khachatryan and Artur Ghazinyan from the NA Armenia Faction spoke about the cases of violating the ceasefire in Nagorno Karabakh during the pandemic by Turkey and Azerbaijan and inadmissibility of the banned ammunition use.
The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Sargis Khandanyan thanked the representatives of the Committees for visiting Armenia in such hard conditions and taking part in the works of the Parliamentary Assembly, and the EU delegation and the EU Ambassador for supporting in the organizational issues of the Assembly works.
The Member of the European Parliament Juozas Olekas thanked the Armenian delegation for the warm hospitality, wishing them successes.
