On December 4 the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received Seyed Kazem Sadjadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) to Armenia.

Galust Sahakyan welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador in the National Assembly and congratulated him on the occasion of being appointed IRI Ambassador to Armenia. The NA Speaker highly assessed the activities of about twenty years of the IRI Embassy and highlighting the Ambassadors’ role in the development of the inter-state relations, urged the newly appointed Ambassador to make efforts for further developing the existing relations.

Galust Sahakyan noted: “The Armenian-Iranian cooperation continues to develop in all spheres: a positive move was registered in the bilateral economic relations.”

The Speaker of the National Assembly expressed his satisfaction with the activities of the Friendship Groups of the parliaments of the two countries. In the NA President’s word, the dialogue at the parliamentary level boosts the cooperation in all spheres.

Galust Sahakyan has noted that he is well aware of the Armenian-Iranian joint projects and expressed hope that Seyed Kazem Sadjadi with his activity will promote their implementation and the drafting of the new projects. The NA Speaker assured that as usual the parliament would cooperate with the Iranian Embassy and would support in the implementation of the new projects.

Thanking for the reception, Seyed Kazem Sadjadi has stated that he is glad to begin his diplomatic mission in Armenia. According to the newly appointed Ambassador, we should promote the further deepening of the Armenian-Iranian diplomatic relations and the development of cooperation in all spheres.

The Ambassador presented to the President of the RA National Assembly the projects to be implemented during his tenure, the projects which are underway in the spheres of healthcare, education, culture and economy.

Highlighting the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in the development of the bilateral relations, Seyed Kazem Sadjadi has stated that he will be consistent for the cooperation of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups and the activation of the mutual visits.
