On February 5 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings passing the bills debated on the previous day.

The deputies debated the agreement “On Cooperation in the Sphere of the Military Messenger-Post Communication between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation” which submitted the RA Deputy Minister of Defense Ara Nazaryan.

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan submitted the endorsement.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan presented for the debate in the first reading the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Profit Tax.”

Garegin Nushikyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs on the issue.

The deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Heghine Bisharyan and Khosrov Harutyunyan expressed their viewpoints on the draft law.

The representatives of the ANC and the RPA factions expressed their viewpoints on the bill.

In the name of the ANC faction Levon Zurabyan touched upon the main provisions of the bill and the logic of the amendments, noting it inadmissible.

The Head of the RPA faction Vahram Baghdasaryan has observed the bill in the context of the economic policy and has noted that it is an initiative directed to the future.

In the final speeches the member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Garegin Nushikyan and the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vakhtang Mirumyan thanked the parliament for thoroughly debating the issue and touched upon the deputies’ concerns and recommendations. They expressed readiness to cooperate from the first to the second reading and edit the bill.

It has been suggested to establish private cemeteries.

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan submitted for debate in the first reading the legislative package “On Amending the RA Law on the Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan” and designing amendments to a number of law conditioned by it.

The debate of the issue will continue at the NA next four-day sittings.
