On June 9 the National Assembly began the work of the four-day sittings.
The NA deputies observed a minute of silence in the memory of the former deputy of the Supreme Council and the National Assembly, the freedom fighter Smbat Ayvazyan who died on June 8.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan has informed that through the RPA electoral list Vazgen Karakhanyan has been registered the NA deputy, and through the PAP electoral list Tigran Nersisyan and congratulated them.
The NA deputies approved the draft laws of the agendas of the session and the four-day sittings and passed by voting the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Social Security of Servicemen and Their Family Members.”
The National Assembly ended the debate of the package of bills proposing amendments to the RA Judicial Code and to a number of laws interrupted in the previous sitting, then debated the bill “On Amending the RA Law on Alternative Service” presented in the second reading.
The NA deputies also debated the item “On Appointing a Member of the RA Constitutional Court.” In the vacant post of the member of the RA Constitutional Court the NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan nominated Araik Tunyan’s candidacy, then presented his working activity and professional capabilities.
Araik Tunyan presented his pictures on the working obligations of the RA Constitutional Court member answered the NA deputies’ questions.
Araik Tunyan was appointed the RA Constitutional Court member by secret ballot: 65 for and 3 against.
The National Assembly debated the financial treaty North-South Road Corridor of Armenia signed between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank on November 7 and on November 18, 2013 and the credit agreement signed between the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank on March 11, 2014 (North-South Road Corridor Investment Programme-Programme 3), which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communication Artur Arakelyan.
The NA deputies debated the report on the implementation of the monetary-credit policy programme of the RA Central Bank for 2013, which introduced the Chairman of the RA Central Bank Artur Javadyan.
Artur Javadyan also introduced the monetary-credit policy of the RA Central Bank for 2014.
The National Assembly will resume the work of the four-day sittings on June 10.
