On June 4-6 the delegation led by the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan was in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod to take part in the works of the 24^th session of the RA NA and RF FA Inter-Parliamentary Committee.

On June 4 the members of the delegation led by the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan had a meeting with Vyacheslav Shtyrov, the Deputy Chairman of the RF FA Federal Assembly. Mr Shtyrov has noted with satisfaction that the two countries cooperate in all directions and has highlighted the further deepening of the inter-parliamentary relations. Welcoming the counterparts the RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan deemed important the dynamic and effective work of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee, highly appreciating the big contribution made by the Co-Chair Nikolay Ryzhkov in the creation of the Committee and the joint work. Hermine Naghdalyan presented the importance of the agenda items of the previous and upcoming sittings, particularly the improvement of the economic mechanisms in the small and medium business. She has informed the attendees that a working group studying the activity of the railway is created and on that occasion parliamentary hearings connected with the procedure of the South Caucasus Railway works is scheduled to hold. She has noted that the discussions in the Committee format can be an important platform for the elaboration of the further steps aimed at the deepening of the integration processes. Welcoming the Armenian delegation Nikolay Ryzhkov has stressed that the Committee distinctly presents and expresses the mutual interests of the two friendly countries. During the talk he has expressed gratitude to the Armenian side, noting that on the occasion of the 15^th anniversary of the Committee activity the members of the Russian side have been given high awards by the RA President Serzh Sargsyan, which will be handed over to them during the sitting. The Committee Co-Chairs touched upon the agenda items of the next sitting, proposing to discuss the processes relating to the Customs Union and the 70^th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, as well as items regarding the events dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Genocide. Events dedicated to the 100^th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be also organized in different countries. At the meeting issues concerning the integration processes were also discussed.

On the same day the RA NA delegation had a meeting with Ivan Melnikov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma.

Welcoming the RA NA delegation Ivan Melnikov, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma highly assessed the strategic partnership, the political dialogue and the level of the inter-parliamentary cooperation of the two countries. The sides touched upon the issue of Armenia’s upcoming accession to the Eurasian Economic Union and the united integration processes. They also referred to the activity of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee. During the talk the sides also mentioned other issues of bilateral interest.

Oleg Yesayan, the RA Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the RF, attended the meetings.
