Initiative Debated in the First Reading: The Administrative Workers of Educational Institutions with up to 100 Learners to Have Opportunity to Teach also in Other General Educational Institutions

The deputies of the Civil Contract Faction Lilit Stepanyan, Heriknaz Tigranyan and Sisak Gabrielyan propose amendments to the law for making regulations and specification in some provisions of the law on General Education.

The authors propose to re-edit the Article 25.5 of the law: with the amendment the administrative workers of the educational institutions with up to 100 learners will have opportunity to teach also in other general educational institutions on the basis of the working contract on the non-competitive bases.

“At this moment, we have 258 vacancies for teachers, as well as we have 429 educational institutions with up to 100 learners. It’s 31.5% of the general educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia,” the key rapporteur Lilit Stepanyan underlined.

According to the deputy, by the adoption of the initiative the learners of the rural and border small communities will be given opportunity to study this or that subject not only online, but also in the available version.

The provision on the election of the directors of the State Non-Commercial Organizations (SNCO) and the requirements of the competition organization.

The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing (Head) Committee on Science, Education, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Taguhi Ghazaryan presented the endorsement of the Committee. She urged her colleagues to vote for it.

The presented draft is consonant with the policy of the Government. The executive body presented a number of proposals, which were mainly adopted. The RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said about this. As she informed, the Government initiated mapping work of the educational qualified services in Syunik, similar work will be done also in rural places of other marzes.

The initiative was debated in the first reading at December 7 NA sitting.
