Such meetings contribute to the strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries. The Chief of Staff, the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Armenia Vahan Naribekyan said about this at the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Armenia Alison Mary LeClaire on April 27.
Speaking about the effective cooperation between the NA Staff and the Parliamentary Centre (Canada), Vahan Naribekyan underlined that a Strategic Development Program was presented with the support of the Centre. “We attach importance to the continuation of cooperation within the framework of the introduction of the abovementioned program and the Operational Program during the next 5 years,” the Chief of the NA Staff said.
It was noted that the Strategic Development Program also aims at creating greater opportunities to involve persons with disabilities, women and youth in the activities of the Staff.
Vahan Naribekyan also spoke about other programs planned between the NA Staff and the Parliamentary Centre (Canada). In this context, the implementation of training programs for the employees of the Staff and the exchange of experience in the Canadian Parliament were underlined.
From the point of view of the development of bilateral cooperation, the Ambassador highlighted the effective implementation of the Strategic Development Program. She welcomed the implementation of new bilateral programs and expressed readiness to contribute to the expansion of cooperation.
