Hayk Konjoryan Meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
1 / 3

On October 19, the Head of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland John Patrick Gallagher.

Hayk Konjoryan highlighted the inter-parliamentary relations, their further development and strengthening between two countries. The Head of the Faction drew the Ambassador’s special attention to the issue of the immediate return of the Armenian captives being illegally kept in Azerbaijan.

It has been noted that Armenia is ready to make efforts for opening an era for the peaceful development in the region.

The issue of de-blockading the regional communications was highlighted. Hayk Konjoryan reaffirmed the commitment of the RA authorities in the strengthening and development of democracy in the country, and its most vivid evidence were the June 20, 2021 snap parliamentary elections.

In his turn John Patrick Gallagher emphasized the issue of the establishment of long-term peace, as well as stressed the importance of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Chairmanship. The Ambassador expressed readiness of the United Kingdom to promote the strengthening and development of democracy in Armenia.
