At September 6 extraordinary sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, moderated by Andranik Kocharyan, debated the issue of electing the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee for the second time.

It should be reminded that on August 31 the deputies of the Civil Contract Faction voted against the candidacy of the deputy of the Armenia Faction Artur Ghazinyan. The Armenia Faction again nominated him as a candidate. The Head of the faction Artsvik Minasyan presented the candidate’s biographical data. “Your vote will not change our position towards Artur Ghazinyan,” the MP said.

The candidate also answered to the colleagues questions. As a result of debate and voting, Artur Ghazinyan was not elected the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security. According to the D’Hondt method, the opposition faction is given 5 days to nominate a new candidate.

The Committee members approved 2021-2022 schedule for the reception of the citizens in the NA.
