At August 31 extraordinary sitting, moderated by Andranik Kocharyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security approved the work order of the Committee activities.

The deputies debated the issue on the election for the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee. The Armenia Faction nominated Artur Ghazinyan as a candidate. The MP of the faction Gegham Manukyan presented the candidate’s biographical data.

Artur Ghazinyan thanked the Armenia Faction for nominating him. He emphasized the importance of the Committee activities.

The deputy also answered to the colleagues’ questions. As a result of voting, Artur Ghazinyan was not elected the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security. According to the D’Hondt method, the opposition faction is given 5 days to nominate a new candidate.
