On August 16, the NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General Vahan Naribekyan met with the delegation of the International Republican Institute (IRI) headed by the Director James De Witt for mapping the cooperation format between the Office of the NA Chief of Staff and the IRI Armenia. The NA Deputy Chief of Staff Anna Grigoryan also participated in the meeting.
Welcoming James De Witt in the National Assembly, Vahan Naribekyan noted that the IRI as a strategic supporter of the state bodies of the Republic of Armenia, great work had done since 2018, supporting the state administration bodies during the implementation of the necessary and key reforms, providing data and experts during the elaboration of the communication strategies.
The Chief of Staff, Secretary General highlighted the IRI trainings for the employees of the National Assembly on the previous year. “We also highlight the support being provided by the IRI in the frameworks of the Baltic Eurasia Inter-Parliamentary Training Institute (BEIPTI) program, which is a special contact platform with the parliaments of our partner Baltic countries. We also evaluate the work being done by the IRI with the Committees of the National Assembly. Having Committees being newly formed, we especially value this work,” Vahan Naribekyan said.
James De Witt presented the programs, which were implemented during the previous years. In that context he distinguished the courses of the Staffs of the Parliament Committees, the exchange programs, etc.
He also touched upon the needs and the priorities of the NA Staff.
The Chief of Staff, Secretary General of the National Assembly expressed readiness for support, so that the effective cooperation would be continuous.
