On June 25, the Head of the RA Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation led by the Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Parliameny of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Manh Tien.

Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan evaluated the established Armenian-Vietnamese  inter-parliamentary ties, expressing hope that the current visit of the parliamentary delegation would give new impetus to the further expansion of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. According to him, unlike the parliamentary relations, the bilateral ties in other spheres are not at a desirable level, in case, when there is considerable potential in the spheres of economy, culture, tourism and many other spheres. The Head of the parliament expressed hope that in the near future the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam would also function, which would boost the bilateral relations.

Noting that the parliamentary delegation led by him was the first one visiting Yerevn from Vietnam, Nguyen Manh Tien characterized it as a vivid evidence of great interest from his country for cooperation with Armenia. “We highly assess the relations between the two parliaments and expect that such mutual visits will give an opportunity to use the great potential existing in other spheres,” Nguyen Manh Tien noted, conveying to Ararat Mirzoyan the invitation for visiting Vietnam by the Head of their parliament.

According to the Vietnamese parliamentarian, they observe Armenia as a country, which can be a good bridge between Asia and Europe, thus we expect that the Armenian side will actively take part in a number of regional structures and have a role there.

Thanking for the invitation to visit the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the NA President has underlined that the Armenian side has a great interest in deepening the relations with Vietnam, as well as other regional countries. According to him, in terms of cooperation it is time to turn to practical steps.
