1 / 13

On April 23, in the open section for the citizens of the National Assembly Park, on the initiative of the deputy Aleksey Sandikov a planting of birches took place, where the RA NA President Ararat Mirzoyan, the Vice Presidents Alen Simonyan, Lena Nazaryan, Vahe Enfiajyan, deputies, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin and citizens took part.

The participants planted 32 birch saplings brought from the Russian village Fioletovo of Lori Marz: it is designed to reach their number to 50.

The NA President Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that the creation of the Armenian-Russian friendship alley in the parliament park is of symbolic character and confirmation of many centuries’ old friendly relations existing between the two countries’ peoples.

According to the NA Vice President Lena Nazaryan, a beautiful tradition has been formed: the park gets enriched in some kinds of trees characterizing different nations, and becomes an interesting promenade.

The grandson of the architect of the National Assembly building Mark Grigoryan the journalist Mark Grigoryan has welcomed the initiative and highlighted that the park is accessible for everybody.

Aleksey Sandikov has noted that the birches planted years ago in the background of the main building of the parliament on Karen Demirchyan’s initiative beautify the park today. According to her, within the framework of the programme dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War it is envisaged to found birch alleys in all marzes of Armenia.
