Participants of International Scientific-Educational School Development of Civil Conscience: Experience of Eurasian Regional States in Parliament

On March 4, the Head of the RA NA My Step Lilit Makunts and the Faction Member Vagharshak Hakobyan met with the participants of the International Scientific-Educational School Development of the Civil Conscience: Experience of Eurasian Regional States .

Welcoming the guests, Lilit Makunts presented the priorities of the faction's activity. She has underlined that they actively cooperate with the executive body, during certain meetings they try to understand how they can influence on different processes going on in the country.

Lilit Makunts touched upon the necessity of close cooperation with the civil society, particularly talked about the economic reform agenda and the changes to be expected in a number of spheres.

Vagharshak Hakobyan highlighted the role of the youth in the implementation of the reforms in the country, noting that the role was also evident in the days of non violent, velvet revolution, when through constitutional way the Armenian people celebrated their victory.

In the Q & A format, as well as in their speeches the organizers and participants of the International School have underlined that the initiative is a special platform for strengthening closer and professional relations between the young leaders of the CIS member states.

They raised the idea of creating a Youth Parliament in Armenia, the issue of making accessible for wide layers of the public the study of the Russian through the educational exchange programmes, try to clarify the reforms to be expected in a number of spheres in our country, the steps to be taken for the activation of the ties with the EEU countries, and making recognizable Armenia for the foreigners.

Lilit Makunts and Vagharshak Hakobyan presented in detail the ongoing processes in our country in the future, the agenda of the reforms to be implemented, talked about the programmes of importance of development of relations and cooperation with the EEU member countries.

The project of the International Scientific-Educational School was implemented by the initiative of the Armenian-Russian Youth Unity NGO and Center of Public Diplomacy and by the assistance of the A. M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund. More than four dozens of young people took part in the project from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. The courses were held in Dilijan from February 28 to March 4.
