On June 29 the finals of NA Cup Tournament started at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan.

In the opening solemn ceremony RA NA President Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan, NA Vice President Mr. Samvel Nikoyan, NA Chief of Staff Mr. Gegham Gharibjanian, Minister of Education and Science Mr. Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Armen Grigoryan, other officials and Honored Master of Sports.

Greeting those present, President of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan expressed his satisfaction that school children from all the regions of the republic, Nagorno Karabakh and Yerevan city took part in the competition.

Minister of Education and Science Mr. Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Armen Grigoryan also greeted the competitors and wished them good luck.

It’s worth mentioning that the NA Cup Tournament competition is being organized from 2000-2001. The main aim is to spread different sports among the school children and bring up a healthy generation.

In 2008-2009 in total 230 thousand pupils participated in RA NA Cup Tournament and 252 of them entered the final stage. The winners will be rewarded not only with RA NA Cup and certificate, but they will also be presented with sports uniform and equipment.
