The NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs convened an extraordinary sitting on July 11. It was chaired by the Deputy Chair of the Committee Arusyak Julhakyan.
The MPs debated and endorsed a number of legislative initiatives in the second reading.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan presented the amendments and addenda to the Law on the Flag of the Republic of Armenia and the RA Code of Administrative Offenses. According to her, the initiative was not amended from the first to the second reading.
The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan, presenting the amendments to the Law on Notary, noted that they refer to both the correction of technical errors and the regulation of new legal relations that have arisen over time. According to the rapporteur, the most important amendments are related to the provisions of notary appointment.
From the first to the second reading, the MPs did not present any proposal.
At the sitting, the MP Arpine Davoyan voiced her oral proposals regarding the draft, which the key rapporteur considered acceptable.
Addenda to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia were also presented by the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Ara Mkrtchyan. According to him, the draft proposes to supplement Article 81 of the Code.
The Deputy Minister informed that no proposals were submitted regarding the initiative from the first to the second reading.
The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Probation authored by the MP Alkhas Ghazaryan was also debated at the sitting.
According to Alkhas Ghazaryan, the draft was revised from the first to the second reading based on the technical proposals of the Government.
