At the meeting with the delegation led by the Head of Croatia-Armenia Friendship Group of the Croatian Parliament led by Davor Ivo Stier the representatives of the RA NA Armenia-Croatia Friendship group gave details about the consequences of the Lachin Corridor crisis, our compatriots being illegally held in Azerbaijan, the aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia and the dangers threatening to 120.000 residing in Nagorno Karabakh (NK) and the aggressive policy of Azerbaijan.

The Head of the Friendship Group Hayk Mamijanyan highlighted the development and expansion of bilateral relations, noting that next year the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will turn.

A talk was held on the opportunities of the cooperation on the international platforms. Underscoring the effective work of the legislators of the two countries on the most different parliamentary platforms, the Head of the Friendship Group expressed gratitude to the Croatian delegation for always being next to Armenia in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). He particularly distinguished the joint work in the blockade of the Lachin Corridor. The deputy also reminded that he during the initiatives of the Resolution on Prevention of Genocide in the UN, Croatia repeatedly has been a co-author with Armenia and a number of other countries.

“In the context of the Azerbaijani aggression in the relations of Armenia and Azerbaijan and the NK conflict, the supporting Armenia and the NK will mean to be next to history and justice,” Hayk Mamijanyan noted. In this regard, the MP reminded the interlocutor about giving state award and prize by Azerbaijan to figures, who simply provided the presence of students on the Lachin Corridor. “It means that they do not carry out ecological action. This was an award for holding 120.000 Armenians under blockade,” the MP said.

A reference was made to the RA-EU relations, the results registered by the EU Civilian Observation Mission. “We would like to see change in the word and action of those who made decisions, taking into consideration the fact that Armenia and Artsakh are always in the target of actions of aggressor Azerbaijan,” the Head of With Honor Faction documented. He also spoke about the problem of the destruction of the Armenian cultural heritage, noting that in this issue Azerbaijan also rejected the involvement of the International Observation Mission.

As a historian, the member of Croatia-Armenia Friendship Group Domagoj Hajduković stressed that numerous monasteries, cemeteries, churches were destroyed, an attempt was made to eliminate the Armenian presence on the Armenian territories. Domagoj Hajduković emphasized acquainting the problems on the spot and underscored that it would give an opportunity them to voice them on the European different platforms. He also spoke about the opportunities of cooperation within the framework of the European Union.

T he Head of Croatia-Armenia Friendship Group Davor Ivo Stier also referred to the implementation of the decision of the UN International Court of Justice on the Lachin Corridor crisis. He attached importance to the cooperation in the scope of PACE.

The member of the Friendship Seyran Ohanyan opined that the NK conflict is not solved and noted that the Azerbaijani provocations prove that Artsakh cannot be part of Azerbaijan. To his conviction, Azerbaijan speaks about peace, but in practice it takes other steps. In this hard situation the Head of Armenia Faction spotlighted that the response condemning the provocative actions of Azerbaijan be addressed.

The member of the Friendship Group Hripsime Hunanyan voiced the health and social problems of 120.000 Armenians under blockade in Artsakh noted that the protection of human rights should be of priority. In restraining the ambitions of Azerbaijan the representative of the Civil Contract Faction noted that she expects her colleagues’ addressed response.
