RA Prosecutor General is Appointed Artur Davtyan

On September 15, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the sittings, debating the issue of the election of the member of the National Commission on Television and Radio (NCTR).

Let us note that Tigran Hakobyan was recognized winner in the competition of the vacant position of the Commission member, and to whom the deputies addressed numerous questions concerning the sphere.

The Chairman of the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee Sukias Avetisyan has informed that at the sitting of the Committee a decision was made to hold the election on appointment of the RA Prosecutor General on September 15 at 13:30 – 14:10, at the foyer next to the NA Session Hall.

The RA Acting Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan submitted for the deputies’ debate the draft law on amending the RA law on Customs Regulation authored by the RA Government and the NA deputy Edmon Marukyan.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan endorsed the draft law.

Along with the sitting the secret ballot of the RA Prosecutor General and the NCTR member took place.

Opening the ballot box, the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee recorded that 97 deputies voted for, 3 deputies against, and 3 voting papers were recognized invalid.

By the voting results Artur Davtyan was appointed the RA Prosecutor General.

The Chairman of the NA Ad-hoc Accounting Committee Sukias Avetisyan has informed that 111 MPs participated in the secret ballot of the election of the NCTR Member. 105 MPs voted for, 4 MPs against Tigran Hakobyan’s candidacy, 2 voting papers were recognized invalid.

According to the voting results, Tigran Hakobyan was elected the NCTR Member.

The parliament in the first reading also debated the bill on Making Amendments to the RA Law on Games of Chance and Gambling Houses, which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan endorsed the bill.

Afterwards the deputies the legislative initiative on Establishing the Annual Report for 2015 of the Programme Execution of State Property Privatization for 2006-2007, which presented the Head of the State Property Management Department adjunct to the RA Government Arman Sahakyan.

Arman Sahakyan presented the report and answered the deputies’ questions.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan endorsed the legislative initiative.

The deputies in the first reading debated the draft law on Making Amendments to the RA Law on Human Reproduction Health and Reproductive Rights with enclosed draft law, which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Healthcare Sergey Khachatryan.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Healthcare, Maternity and Childhood Ara Babloyan presented the endorsement of the draft law.

The parliament also debated the Agreement on Mutually Removing the Demand of the Entry Visa between the RA Government and Macao Special Administrative Territory of the Republic of China signed in Macao on February 3, 2016, which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan. The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Alexander Arzumanyan endorsed the Agreement.

The voting of the debated bills will take place during the NA next four-day sittings.

The parliament ended the work of the four-day sittings with this.
