On March 23, the RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov received Jerzy Marek Nowakowski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the Ambassador Eduard Sharmazanov has noted that the Armenian-Polish relations develop in natural way, and there is still potential for deepening them. In this issue the NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the strengthening of the relations and the mutual visits in parliamentary format. The NA Vice President highlighted the balanced position of Poland in the settlement of the NK conflict and the adoption of the decision on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Parliament of Poland in 2005.
Eduard Sharmazanov informed the Ambassador that the RA NA Delegation will take part in the events dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity by Poland which is designed to hold in April.
Ambassador Jerzy Marek Nowakowski has thanked Eduard Sharmazanov for the warm reception and has noted that the Armenian-Polish relations have opportunity to develop in all directions. The Ambassador considered significant the presence of the Armenian community of 650-year history in the progress and the development of civilization. In this context he has informed that it is envisaged to celebrate that fact in Poland next year.
