On September 24 the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport moderated by Artak Davtyan debated the results of the services implemented through state budget by the RA Ministry of Education and Science, the results of the Control Chamber oversight, and public procurement. The RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan and the Chairman of the RA Control Chamber (COC) Ishkhan Zakaryan attended the sitting.
The Head of the COC Seventh Department Mesrop Hakobyan noted that they had studied a number of programmes and some breaches and discrepancies had been recorded based on the oversight outcome, mainly in Special Education and Professional General Teaching programmes.
The RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science touched upon the disclosures made by the COC and the problems existing in schools.
The NA deputies and the representatives of the educational institutions also presented their considerations on the report. They referred to the gaps in the RA Law “On Procurement” and the problems existing in the procurement process.
