On December 5 within the framework of the RA NA Speaker’s official visit the members of the parliamentary delegation of Armenia in the Indian Parliament met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee on External Affairs Ananth Kumar and the members of the parliament.
Welcoming his Armenian counterparts Ananth Kumar has highlighted the deepening of the friendly relations existing between the parliaments and has noted that such visits and bilateral contacts boost the cooperation and promote the development of the relations of the two countries in different formats. He presented to the Armenian parliamentarians the activities and the composition of the Committee led by him.
The Chairamn of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Artak Zakaryan also highlighted the further development of cooperation of the two parliaments and noted that the visit of the NA delegation to India had been one more step in continuing the parliamentary dialogue.
The Chairman of Armenia-India Friendship Group Araik Hovhannisyan has noted that the activities of the friendship groups and the active contacts are important for developing and strengthening the cooperation between the parliaments. A. Kumar informed the attendees that in future in the Indian Parliament also a Friendship Group with Armenia would be created.
In the course of the meeting the sides highlighted the deepening of cooperation in different international instances, discussed regional issues and pointed out the possibilities of further cooperation.
