On April 27 the President of the RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan took part in the students’ scientific conference with the heading “The Challenges and Obstacles of the Development of the RA Economy” in the Youth Centre of Tsakhkadzor, which the Students’ Council of the Armenian State University of Economy, by the support of the Armenian Youth Foundation had organized.

Welcoming the students and professors the NA President has noted with joy that the holding of the yearly scientific conferences is important, as the students have opportunity to present their opinions, considerations and recommendations on the programmes of the development of Armenia’s economy and overcoming of financial-economic crises.

To make the scientific conferences more effective Hovik Abrahamyan urged the students to submit the proposals in written form to the government, and if necessary, the executive body will include them in the programmes of economic development.

In the NA President’s opinion, though we had 7.2% economic growth in Armenia, nevertheless, the economic crisis in our country is not completely overcome in our country yet. With that respect Hovik Abrahamyan deems important the investment and use of economic knowledge. In order to strengthen the economic theoretical knowledge the President of the parliament presented a practical recommendation to the students and professors to organize meetings in the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs, which will give opportunity of exchange of experience. The NA President noted that in the rapidly changing world we should do our best in order not to remain backwards from developing countries.

Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the training of high qualified human resources in the sphere of economy, which would promote the development of economy based on knowledge.

Once again emphasizing the organization of similar scientific conferences the President of the National Assembly has noted that the problems, existing in the country, are raised there.

Welcoming the participants of the scientific conference the President of the University of Economy Koryun Atoyan thanked the Chairman of the Council of the Univeristy of Economy, the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan for taking part in every important event and for constantly keeping at the centre of attention the problems of the higher educational institution and students. “You do your best for making the higher educational institution a students’ centre,” Hovik Abrahamyan noted. He also highlighted the holding of such scientific conferences and noted that the research work was very important for the students’ professional deepening.

More than hundred students and professors from the higher educational institution take part in the scientific conference.

The main goal of the scientific conference is to study the economic situation existing in the RA, the perspectives and obstacles of the development, using the potential, knowledge and thought of the young economists through introducing new proposals and ideas of the economic development.

The students presented reports, which were assessed by the professional jury.

In Tsakhkadzor the NA President also took part in the leisure programme.
