On April 8 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received the Lord Wallace of Saltaire, member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Minister on Relations between the Government and the House of Lords, who had arrived in Armenia to take part in the NA special sitting of assuming the office of the RA President.

Welcoming the Lord Wallace the NA President documented with satisfaction that during the recent years the cooperation between Armenia and Great Britain had made considerable progress. Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the need of enlargement of relations with the United Kingdom both in bilateral and multilateral formats, expressing confidence that big potential was available for activation of political dialogue between the two countries, further effective development and reinforcement of relations, as well as enlargement of the ends of cooperation. The NA President deemed necessary the activation of inter-parliamentary relations and the contacts of delegations at different levels between the parliaments, with conviction that the parliamentary diplomacy was one of the important levers of enhancing the political dialogue between the countries. Hovik Abrahamyan also emphasized the deepening of cooperation in the format of relations with the European Union and in the international parliamentary structures.

Thanking for reception the Lord Wallace of Saltaire also highlighted the further development and deepening of relations of the two countries. In this context he deemed necessary the activation of inter-parliamentary relations, the bilateral contacts and the cooperation in different formats.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon regional issues, the regulation of the NK problem and issues of bilateral interest.
