Visit of the Delegation Led by the Speaker of IRI Parliament Ali Larijani Continues

On October 9 the delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Ali Larijani accompanied by RA NA Chief of Staff Gegham Gharibjanyan visited the History Museum of Armenia. The members of the delegation visited the National Art Gallery of Armenia, where they were presented exhibits and details from the history of the Armenian art.

Later the delegation led by the IRI Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani visited Yerevan State University of Economics (YSUE) to meet with the professors of the university.

Greeting the visit of the IRI Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani to Armenia the YSUE Rector Yuri Suvaryan highly assessed the existing, warm, friendly relations. He noted that Iran was among the countries, which gave shelter to our compatriots, who were saved from 1915 genocide. Highlighting the high level of the political and economic ties between the two countries, Mr. Suvaryan noted that the ties and contacts between the higher educational and scientific institutions of the two countries were weak proposing to activate them in his name and name of the YSUE scientific board.

The YSUE Rector Yuri Suvaryan by the decision of the YSUE scientific board granted the IRI Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani title of honourable doctor for the development of the Armenian-Iranian economic, scientific-educational, cultural relations, for the significant contribution in strengthening the friendly ties of the peoples of the two countries. Thanking for the title granted to him the IRI Speaker of the Parliament Ali Larijani in his speech highlighted the existing progress in the political, economic and cultural spheres and the need of more deepening it. Mr. Larijani considered necessary the deepening of cooperation between the two countries, stressing the importance of the friendly relations of the two states in the regional aspect too. The IRI Speaker of the Parliament considered expedient the existing programmes between Armenia and Iran, ensuring that everything would be done for implementing those programmes. Positively assessing the proposal of the YSUE Rector Yuri Suvaryan to strengthen the inter-relations between the higher educational institutions, Mr. Larijani noted that he would be consistent in order to more deepen and strengthen the existing ties between higher educational, scientific-educational and scientific-cultural institutions of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting the YSUE Rector Yuri Suvaryan thanked the delegation led by the IRI Speaker of the Parliament for visiting their higher educational institution and wished the friendly people of Armenia success and new achievements in the spheres of culture, economy, science and education.
