In May 2010 by the order of RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan a Committee and a Working Group to Coordinate and Control the Works of Capital Repairing and Technical Renovation of the Session Hall of RA National Assembly was set up. The Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan, RA NA Chief of Staff Gegham Gharibjanyan (executive coordinator of the committee), Deputy Chief of RA President’s Staff Vigen Sargsyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Artak Davtyan, the Head of RA NA RPA Faction Galust Sahakyan, the Head of RA NA PAP Faction Gagik Tsarukyan, the Head of RA NA ARF Faction Vahan Hovhannisyan, the Head of RA NA Country of Law Faction Heghine Bisharyan, the Head of RA NA Heritage Faction Stepan Safaryan, RA Chief Architect, Deputy Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan, the Chief Archiect of Yerevan Samvel Danielyan, the Chairman of the Architects’ Union of Armenia Mkrtich Minasyan, architect Anahit Tarkhanyan were included in the committee.
On August 10.the sitting of the committee, which presided over the Committee Chairman, the Speaker of RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, was held.
RA NA Speaker noted that the works being done were under control, and everything was done to complete them with quality and in time. The committee members informed those present about the procedure of the works according to the spheres. The architect Anahit Tarkhanyan introduced with common features the future and look of the hall and architectural solutions. The Director of VEKS Ltd Karen Sargsyan presented the wooden and furnishing works of the hall, the representatives of the Ellipse Company touched upon the technical renovation works of the session hall, the Director of Horizon-95 Ltd Gagik Galstyan said that the construction works go on according to the schedule.
In his concluding speech RA Chief Architect, Deputy Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan noted that the repairing works of the hall go on without delays, and the chosen architectural solutions will give opportunity to have a hall in accordance with international standards.
At the end of the sitting the committee members headed by RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan visited the session hall of the parliament under repair, got familiarized with the works being done.
