On August 1, the three-day Armenian National Youth Forum started in Yerevan, the purpose of which is to bring together the youth of Armenia, the Diaspora and Nagorno-Karabakh to take part in the development processes of Armenia. More than 600 young people aged 18-35 from around 51 countries arrived in Armenia within the framework of the conference initiated by the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. The conference will allow Armenian youth to identify common priorities, as well as work together in the direction of developing a road map for Armenia-Diaspora youth cooperation.
The Vice President of the RA National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan welcomed the participants of the Armenian National Youth Forum with the slogan ‘By the Youth, For the Youth.’
“What unites us is the homeland, the Armenian language, statehood, religion, at the heart of which is the Republic of Armenia,” Hakob Arshakyan said expressing conviction that the three-day discussions and events will be effective. Touching upon the challenges faced, the NA Vice President noted that there had always been and would be challenges, but the most important thing is how we react to them. “I want us to treat these challenges with great responsibility and care. I am sure that you had the opportunity to visit the regions and get acquainted with the advantages, successes, opportunities and problems of our country. Only with care, diligence and individual efforts, it is possible to bring the problems to a conclusion, using all available opportunities. I would like to call on our hundreds of young people who have visited Armenia to find the opportunity, the place where they can invest their individual effort and plan its implementation,” Hakob Arshakyan mentioned, wishing everyone strength, energy and will in building their beloved homeland.
The Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, the RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan also welcomed the participants of the conference.
Over the next three days, panel, round-table discussions, TEDx-style talks, presentations, which will be attended by the MPs, are planned.
