“The activity of the friendship groups is key in deepening the cooperation between the National Assembly of Armenia and the Swedish Riksdag. In this regard, I especially highlight the effective cooperation established in recent years, as well as the activation of cooperation between Armenian and Swedish MPs in multilateral formats,” Hripsime Grigoryan, the Head of the RA NA Friendship Group Armenia-Sweden, noted during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Armenia Patrik Svensson held on July 13.

Arsen Torosyan, member of the RA NA Friendship Group Armenia-Sweden, attended the meeting.

Referring to the UNDP Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project aimed at strengthening the capacity of the RA National Assembly, Hripsime Grigoryan highly appreciated the assistance of Sweden in the implementation of the project, as well as the constant support for the democratic processes in our country.

The legislators of Armenia spoke about the close cooperation between the delegations of the two countries at various international parliamentary platforms.

The Ambassador emphasized the expansion of Armenian-Swedish relations in different fields and the effective work of the friendship groups.

The interlocutors exchanged ideas on the process of normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations.

The issues related to the solution of the existing humanitarian problems in the post-war period, the establishment of long-term peace in the region, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in a number of fields were discussed.
