On March 30, the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs, chaired by Vladimir Vardanyan, debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Addenda to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly authored by the NA deputy Vilen Gabrielyan at the sitting. According to it, if the faction does not nominate a candidate for the vacant position of the Chair of the Standing Committee or his/her Deputy Chair reserved by him/her within the period defined by the Rules of Procedure, then the right to nominate a candidate for the given position passes to the faction with the highest coefficient at the beginning of the calculation of the coefficients of the factions.
The author informed that after the first reading, written proposals were not submitted.
In his co-report, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee Vahagn Hovakimyan called on the deputies to vote for the draft.
Aram Vardevanyan noted that the draft is not aimed at the improvement of the NA Rules of Procedure.
As a result of voting, the Committee members endorsed the draft.
The debate of the package of draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Civil Code and on Making Addenda and Amendment to the Law on State Registration of Rights to the Property authored by the NA deputies Babken Tunyan, Narek Zeynalyan, Lusine Badalyan and Hayk Tsirunyan was postponed up to two months.
