Today is the 153rd birth anniversary of the All-Armenian poet Hovhannes Toumanian, and on that day it is accepted to give books to each other. On the occasion of Book Giving Day numerous literary events, launches of books, public readings, meetings with famous writers are held in our country.
On that Day, the RA NA Vice President, the NA Acting President Hakob Arshakyan took part in the launch of the book People and Machines. The History of Creation of The First Armenian Computers by Aleksey Pomigalov, Alexander Andreyev and Ilya Korobov.
Before the exchange of opinions on the manual, those present watched the trailer of the book, which presented the tendencies of the high technological, military-industrial and scientific-technological development.
Highlighting the publication of such book and thanking the authors, Hakob Arshakyan underlined that bearing the scientific and cultural values of the Soviet Armenia, our country should develop and upgrade those skills. To his conviction, such initiatives should be an impetus for putting on the paper the histories of the industrial giants that organized productions in any direction. In that way the future generations would be informed what scientific potential had been in our country, on what basis could be relied on and advance.
After the end of the book launch Hakob Arshakyan accompanied by the NA deputies took a tour in the streets of Yerevan, gave books by the Armenian and foreign well-known writers to our compatriots and talked with them.
Then Hakob Arshakyan, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan and the NA deputies were at the Homeland Defender’s Rehabilitation Center. Accompanied by the Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) Rector Armen Muradyan and the Director of the Center Haykuhi Minasyan, the parliamentarians had a tour in the building, got acquainted with the conditions, visited the library, the canteen and the rest room of the Center.
On the occasion of the Book Day, the legislative bodies gave books to the young people receiving treatment at the Center and talked with them.
The NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan expressed gratitude to the persons who made it reality to have a such Center equipped with modern equipment and first to the homeland defenders receiving rehabilitation treatment for full dedication.
The Homeland Defender’s Rehabilitation Center is equipped with modern rehabilitation equipment, and it is an exceptional Center with its opportunities. Besides the rehabilitation services and medical care, the persons who have military disability receive psychological support at the Center too, and also educational, social integration and employment programs are carried out for them.
