On June 5, the deputy of My Step Faction of the National Assembly Rustam Bakoyan visited Pshatavan Community of Armavir Marz. The deputy had been here recently and promised the residents to raise the issue of the road repairing. The repairing works of the 3 km road sector connecting Argavand-Pshatavan communities had begun, and the MP got acquainted with their procedure in the place.

Afterwards Rustam Bakoyan visited Nalbandyan Community. The Yazidis residing in the community came to meet with the MP representing the Yazidi community in Armenia. They presented the problems concerning them, spoke about the upcoming snap parliamentary elections and also assessed the amendments of the recent years.

According to the Head of the Community Grigor Mkrtchyan, there are several main problems in Nalbandyan Community, which need urgent solution. The first of them is the issue of the provision of the grapes crop that the farmers come across. The grape growers have 250 ha gardens which today have increased, reaching 300 ha. In parallel with enlarging of the gardens, the problems have increased, thus the grape growers expect the intervention of the Government. According to the Head of the Community, the planned crop procurement can be the solution of the problem, as the amount of the crop is clear for them. “We cannot have procurement of 40-100 tonnes of grapes and sell them,” he said.

The Head of the Community has clarified that they have contracts with three procurement companies, but the latter make less the acceptance of the crop year by year.

One more problem is the ruined road of 5 km length in the village, and though its repairing has been planned, however the pandemic and the war emerged on the previous year disturbed it. The irrigation water is problematic, as the farmers have noted its high price.

Rustam Bakoyan promised to discuss the raised problems with the relevant bodies and try to sort out them. He has noticed that there is irrigation water problem in other communities of the marz too. According to him, the problem is not the lack of water, but the necessity of the infrastructure improvement. “We should also consider the possibility of turning to drip irrigation system,” he said.
